The Plane Crash in the Hudson
Yes, the pilots are heroes for getting the plane down without any casualties. . .but the
explanation about both engines being hit by birds. . .simultaneously. . . is for the birds
because the Airbus A320 has a very bad history---lots of engine problems and lots of
crashes. And it has been confirmed that the very same plane that crashed in the Hudson
experienced engine problems just two days earlier. . .but it's better forbusiness if the birds take
THE ECONOMIC RECOVERY PLAN
The pending $800 billion or one trillion dollar economic "recovery"
plan may give a small bump in the short term but we are going even more into debt to implement this plan and it will have to be paid back with higher taxes.
And very little of the spending makes sense.
And there's a frightening little provision in it that you may not know about. . .
remember the story about the 93-year-old man who froze to death
in his home because he couldn't pay his power bill and the power company
put a "limiter" on the amount of electricity he could use? Get ready for "smart meters."
CURRENT HIGHLIGHT:
For years politicians and affordable housing advocacy groups bemoaned the fact
that escalating housing prices were causing a shortage of affordable housing.
And we now know housing values were overinflated. And now that the bubble has burst, we have a
surplus of housing stock and housing prices are falling. . .meaning housing is now more affordable.
But now some politicians and advocacy groups are bemoaning the fact house values have
dropped and are demanding the government "prop up" the housing market to "restore the value" of
housing.
SPECIAL EDITIONS
After the 2001 post 9-11 anthrax attacks in D.C. President Bush and Congress allocated billions of your tax dollars for biowarfare defense research.
Biowarfare defense research entails genetically altering and weaponizing plague,
anthrax, smallpox and other dangerous pathogens to make them more infectious and deadly and then trying to
develop vaccines.
And across the country this research is now being conducted in densely populated areas
at universities and biotech research parks.
Is this incredibly dangerous? Absolutely. Especially considering we now know
the 2001 anthrax attack was perpetrated by an insane American military reseacher
at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, Maryland.
Investigators speculate he did it to increase funding for biodefense research.
Speaking of biodefense research, Dr. Richard Ebright, a microbiologist who directs a laboratory at the Waksman Institute at Rutgers University has warned that,
"Each new facility that maintains stocks of agents for biodefense research becomes a potential source of deliberate or accidental releases and each additional person trained in handling those agents and possessing those agents becomes an additional possible point of deliberate or accidental release."
Others have pointed out that this funding for biodefense research is just a way for politicans to give your tax dollars to wealthy biotech/pharmaceutical corporations (and research universities who have become corporatized) . . .the top executives and politicians get rich. . .you get the risks.
UNC at Chapel Hill and Duke University researchers are now engaging in biodefense research and it is likely that this type of research will increase.
UNC is planning to build a massive biotech research park in Chapel Hill called Carolina North. It is likely that this biotech park will mean an even greater increase in research on dangerous pathogens in a densely populated area.
Those defending animal research will assure you research animals are treated humanely because there are laws and government agencies that strictly monitor their treatment and care. Sure.
It's the USDA---the same agency that can’t keep our food supply safe from e-coli outbreaks or even track them.
Those defending animal research will assure you the animals in research labs are treated humanely because
scientists and researchers are selfless people dedicated to curing diseases and alleviating human suffering.
Well, except for that sociopathic scientist who deliberately release the anthrax in 2001 . . .and the numerous
unethical researchers who have been caught falsifying clinical trials . . .
Dogs, cats, birds, ponies, rabbits and many other animals are subjected to horrific tortures in animal
research labs sometimes for no other reason than the fact some researchers suffer from sociopathic
personality disorder or sadistic personality disorder . . .and it's time we started speaking up about it.
The biggest threat to our environment, our health, wildlife,
biodiversity, water supplies and our way of life is
OVERPOPULATION. But you rarely hear the media, politicians or
even environmental groups talking about overpopulation.
Reclaimed Wastewater And Contaminated food outbreaks:
Since we are now using reclaimed wastewater that contains e-coli to irrigate food crops should we really be surprised to find that periodically our food is contaminated with e-coli? Why are we using reclaimed wastewater? Because overpopulation and overdevelopment has caused serious water shortages across America. [Click Here to read more]
Biosolids (sewage) as Fertilizer--the Health Risks:
We are now using sewage sludge--which means human waste, chemicals, & heavy metals---to fertilize our food crops. Why? Because America is facing a huge overpopulation problem--which means more waste---and we have no idea how to get rid of it cheaply and safely. [Click Here to read More]
Wildfires and dropping groundwater levels due to overpopulation:
Increasingly each year we hear about fires across the nation destoying forests and grasslands. What the media doesn't tell you is that overpopulation + overdevelopment means more water is needed which =s lower groundwater tables which =s dying trees and plants which =s more wildfires.[Click Here to Read More]
Immigration and Overpopulation---What isn't being discussed.
Today in America, immigration (legal and illegal) is adding 2.5 million people every year to our population.
In 2005 the city of Chicago was ranked as the third largest city in the U.S. with a population of 2,842,518 people. In short, immigration is adding almost enough people each and every year to populate a city as large as Chicago.
If you honestly think we can continue to do this without destroying our enviornment, killing off our wildlife and causing a host of other problems. . .then I'm sure some developer is just waiting to sell you some prime wetlands for some spanky new condos.
Is there a better way to help the poor in other countries besides importing them as cheap labor for wealthy corporations? Absolutely. To read more click here]
If you think it's about saving the Earth or even reducing Air Pollution
Man, have you been duped.
And if you think you're being "liberal" supporting the global warming scare, think again. You're basically being manipulated into being a shill for corporate interests.
Obviously it would be good to reduce all forms of air pollution including mercury and sulfur dioxide. . .but "global warming" generally ONLY focuses on carbon dioxide.
WHY?
Because there's big money to be made off CO2---because CO2 is absorbed by growing trees and plants. . .and big corporations, developers & politicians are using this fact and the global warming scare to amass profit and power.
Here's the scoop in a nutshell. We are experiencing global climate change. Since the Earth was formed we have been experiencing global climate change. We don't know if man made pollutants are contributing to or escalating global climate change BUT WE DO KNOW THIS---overpopulation is threatening the health of our environment and water supplies---and this places our ecosystem, biodiversity and our own health at risk.
Just about every problem attributed to "global warming" such as mudslides, flooding, droughts, water shortages, wildfires, loss of wetlands, coastal errosion and disease outbreaks CAN ABSOLUTELY be linked to overpopulation and overdevelopment.
So why don't we hear more about overpopulation and overdevelopment? Because there's big money in continuing to develop on steep slopes and in wetlands and near rivers and lakes. And because overpopulation means cheap labor for corporations. And because there's big money to be made in carbon reduction scams. . .like Carbon Credit buying, selling and trading. . .and carbon consultants . . .and carbon taxes (which generally exempts corporations or allows them to pass the cost along to consumers).
